This year I have tried every which diet:

- SureSlim (Jan to Feb)
- 13 Day Metabolism Diet (March)
- Diet based on the Daniel Fast (April)
- Clean Eating (June-July)
- Banting (August)

Then I turned 28 on 4 September 2017 and I spent the weekend before that seeking God about my life. I then decided to ask Him how I should eat and lose weight (since He created this body, the world and everything in it). In the meantime my husband was overseas and coming back in 11 days so I decided I will wait on God to help but I will also kick-start the process with the 10 Day Egg Diet so that I could fit into all the US size 8 (SA 12/36) clothes he would be bringing home for me.

As I started it I also watched many healthy dieting/ weightloss encouragement videos that challenged the way I was thinking about weightloss, exercise and eating. And slowly adapted the Egg Diet to what would work for me (because 6 eggs a day was waaaaayyyy to much). In 10 days I lost 2.8 kgs - not great in terms of the promises of this particular diet. But my mind had already shifted to accept that the my ideal weight will be achieved over time and through consistency. At the end of 10 days I had already decided to do this for 10 weeks.

I then decided to read "Eat Well and Stay Thin" by Joyce Meyer and realised that my problem is how I utilise food to cope with my emotions and lack of internal fulfillment and decided that I would ask God to help me with that specifically. On top of eating only what He created for my specific body to consume. So after breaking some bad habits through the extreme 10 Day Egg diet I have decided that me eating will glorify God and will consist of the following:

- No processed sugar (I react to sugar like drug addicts to drugs so I cut it out to the best of my ability)
- No dairy (I am lactose intolerant and I no longer want to put my body under the stress of dealing with dairy)
- Avoid wheat (I don't understand what today's wheat is, it's certainly not what they used in the Bible)
- I don't eat too much fruit or honey (because of the sugar thing above)
- I recognise when thirst is signaled as hunger to my stomach
- I recognise when it's emotional or unfulfilled eating and try to keep my mind busy on other things and submit it to God
- And because I am broke (and dont' want to create another dependency) I don't spend money on any fancy health foods or supplements

I just eat what I believe God put on this earth for my specific body and what makes sense in my budget.

I have lost 4.5kgs in 21 days. That's pretty average probably. Whats different is this time its not a diet for me, its my new lifestyle. I want to see what God intended my body to really look like before I learnt all these bad habits. At whatever number this process stops, its cool. I just want to eat in a way that glorifies God.
169.3 lb Lost so far: 40.1 lb.    Still to go: 19.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
