Gastro Patient's Journal, 11 August 2017

I have had a lot of below-150 readings in the last few weeks. This is not a passing thing; it would seem that I've dropped in a significant way.

I'm wondering if this is the "new normal" or if I'm on a ride to a deeper longterm drop. I went dress shopping this week and found garments in a span of sizes from "Small" to a 16, but most are in the "Medium" category. My chest remains permanently overlarge--who knows how long my rib cage was pushed by stomach outward to such a width ... 42 or 44 inches, permanently. Makes garment bodices hard to fit.

I'm trying to negotiate low-FODMAP foods and recipes within our garden produce. Hubby made apricot and blackberry jellies, which are both high-FODMAP, but I think rigorous boiling may have de-fused the worst FODMAP effects. I eat a lot of peppers, even if I have to spit out the fiber of the skin because of impaired gut system. I'm looking forward to garden tomatoes soon; will work at learning how to quickly remove skins by dipping into boiling water and de-seeding so that I can eat all I want of the tomatoes. We have sought out non-"low acid" tomatoes so that I can retain my stomach acidity as much as possible. We have heritage varieties, under the assumption that they were not bred for low acid nor for high sugar as modern hybrids have been developed to be.
