Pinstripe's Journal, 30 March 2012

OK, I've been at same weight for a long time. I'm not losing, but at least I'm not gaining. I'm just not doing anything. I'm feeling defeated. I'm not losing anything, so I'm beginning to think it's not worth it. My doctor appointment was post-poned for 2 more weeks. That will be the real test when I find out if my A1C has changed. I hope so, that may give me the push I need to get back to working on it. My problem is dinner and night time. I'm always hungry, can handle it while at work, but once I'm home I feel like its a free for all.

That's how I felt for years and then I tried Atkins. It's very restrictive, and it's hard to say goodbye to all those foods, but after three days your hunger disappears and it's marvelous. Regardless of which way you go I'll say a prayer for your health and success!

I second trying out Atkins or another lower carb diet. It definitely helps control your appetite and if you do get hungry, you get to eat something, instead of just trying to suffer through it. It is a bit of an adjustment the first couple of days, but after that it is wonderful and it works. My husband has lost 90 lbs and I am very close to having lost 50 lbs. We don't get heartburn or indigestion anymore and we don't have dramatic drops in energy like we used to. Low carb diets have also had very positive effects on people concerned with their blood glucose levels. I would suggest checking out the Atkins website. They have all of the basic info on there to get you started. If you decide it's for you, you can always pick up a book later. Whatever you decide, just don't give up. It IS worth it! Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions.
