I'm having a hard time stopping to record everything I eat in the food diary, even though it's right on my crackberry. Using this makes it a chore to eat at small restaurants and trying to figure out approximately how much of everything was in the dish, not to mention figuring out what butter or oil was used. I guess that's the point though? to be more conscious of what I eat...? i need to make more time to prepare food at home.

I agree! I eat at home most of the time, but I do have to eat out for business reasons and it really is difficult to track foods on those days! I try to ask that meals be prepared w/o extra oils, butter, etc but when you look at the nutritionals for national chains and see the calorie counts for foods that don't appear to be all that calorie laden it's very difficult to try and make an accurate choice from the food database. I think the calorie count for Friendley's BLT is almost 700 calories! It's just two pieces of bread (tops 200 calories) and 3 strips of bacon (about 75 calories) some lettuce and tomato! Is there really over 400 calories worth of mayo on that sandwhich??
