I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning.

I had pretty intense sugar/carb cravings yesterday. I believe they were triggered by my breakfast choices. At work, we have a cafeteria with a standard breakfast fare - same items offered every morning. I usually get a hard boiled egg & 5-6 pieces of bacon. (Side note: their bacon is amazing, I need to ask what brand they use.)

Yesterday, they were hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser for a local charity. I ran into my boss on the way in and she asked me to go with her. I could smell the bacon, so I figured I'd stick to that. There were no eggs, though they did have some fresh blueberries which they don't usually have, so I picked up 6 pieces of bacon, a small handful of blueberries and a sausage link. The bacon was their normal bacon, but the sausage was the maple kind, didn't notice until I took a bite (I should have trashed it then) and consumed all the blueberries (in total it was about 1/8 of a cup).

So I had more sugar than I usually do in the AM and I think that threw my body off. It liked its old way of metabolizing food and constantly nagged me for more.

I didn't give in, though. :D

Reminds me of last Saturday...took the grandson to the local fundraiser pancake breakfast they have uptown on the first Saturday of the month. They have scrambled eggs, sausage, and pancakes. I ate the eggs and sausage and stared at his pancakes. Ate 2 small bites (with syrup), HEAVENLY! I could have gobbled up a lot more BUT instead slurped my coffee down and we left, lol....small battle won! Great job YOU for not giving in!

Thanks, y'all! It wasn't easy! I think I examined every carby sugary item in my house, but the thought of potentially going through the "Keto flu" again helps me say no. :)
