I started Atkins in Aug of 2010 at 238 pounds and began it under doctors orders due to my epilepsy. I now weigh 159 pounds. I recently fell off the diet due to not having as much support on the diet but have been able to maintain the no bread aspect. I did not gain much weight back. Only about 10 pounds. I am going back on induction and trying to continue OWL.
159.0 lb Lost so far: 79.0 lb.    Still to go: 34.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good luck with this - Have you been able to get off your medicines when on the Atkins diet? I also have epilepsy and have been curious as to how effective changing diets can be with controlling epilepsy.

My doctor suggested a Modified Atkins Diet, or straight Ketogenic. I am not off my meds however, I have been able to lower my seizures drastically. I have Primary Generalized Tonic Clonic Epilepsy
