RiverRes's Journal, 28 January 2017

So happy to be back on the "losing" side! The nearly every day trips to the gym are really starting to show and I feel better. Each week I am adding more minutes, raising the intensity, or adding more weight to each thing I do. My co-worker wants me to go to classes (the gym offers many from yoga or zumba to kick boxing or high intensity weight routines); I am hesitant because I am not sure I can handle it. She is nearly 15 years my junior and there are days that my knees and shoulders feel like they belong to an eighty year old. I could probably do it eventually - she is about three months ahead of me on the working out at the gym every day routine.

Speaking of which - I am off to the gym for my Saturday morning workout. I love the weekends - fewer people are there and there are more machines available. I like trying new things there - I have avoided gyms and weight lifting most of my life and it shows. I also get to do a bit of shopping... for new pants!

Have a great day everyone!

I know what you mean about the age difference. I go to the gym with my DIL and she is 20 years younger and never been very overweight. The trainer just modifies our moves and weights we use. I'm ahead of her cardio-wise tho. As for the classes, I say GO FOR IT! I've tried several of the ones at the gym and some I can do, some I flail about trying to do, lol! I love the yoga class and there are always modifications if needed. I think the main thing is to make this journey enjoyable!!!

You and I are very close in age...I do Zumba, yoga, and am crazy about kickboxing. I bet you'll do great! 😀
