Sigh! slow and steady wins the race? :T Thinking about lowering my carbs even more, but I didn't start out right today if so. Didn't know clementines had sooo many carbs. I thought maybe about 5 each, but it was a lot more than that. I need to up my protein for sure. Any tips? I'm on a really low budget so I can't really afford buying bigger or more meat.

I completely understand your need for low cost - low carb food! For a snack, I like to eat pork rinds because they have 0 carbs. I have been doing a low calorie diet and eating beef jerky and celery, carrots, etc. Beef jerky only has 5 carbs per serving. I don't think carrots are very low in carbs though. I wish you the best and hope my couple of suggestions help! :)

I actually have beef jerky, which I love! Thanks for reminding me! I don't like carrots so that's okay. I bought some whey protein and found SUPER low carb "silk" (Milk). I don't ever crave or necessarily LOVE milk--it's just something I used to put in cereal :) so this "silk" doesn't taste too off--I kinda actually like this drink!

caution against cutting carbs too low if you're working out. you need them for energy to power through a good sweat session and get all you can out of it.
protein drinks i have come to rely on. i find the whey ones more tasty than soy. and you can do some diverse things with them if you're into variety in your beverages.
