Atkins isn't working for me at all. I'm finding I crave carbs because I'm in denial. Going to have to try something else to do instead.
192.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 52.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

you can do it just put your mind to it. I thought i wasn't going to do it. I can't be without chocolates and i bought the atkins chocolate bars and everytime i need one i just take a small bite to satisfy my craving. find something to keep your mind off the cravings. i know it's hard

Hi, just a friendly FYI. :) Just wanted to let you know that I looked over your food profile and you are not actually doing Atkins properly so that could be the problem. Cereal and so forth is not part of the Atkins. Especially at your stage. Some of these things you are eating would not even come into play until you are at your goal weight. Perhaps you need to go to Atkins.com and look up the allowable food list. You are craving carbs because you are taking so many in. :) Trust me in this...if you adhere to Atkins induction for a couple weeks and only take in 20 net carbs of food on the allowable food list you will loose weight, your cravings, and a good part of your appetite. During proper induction you will have cravings...but the process of induction weens you from them. That is the whole point of induction...besides getting your body into ketosis. I NEVER thought I would be able to eat so much on a diet as I do Atkins. And all the things that usually no no's on a low fat diet are allowable. My old doctor used to laugh at me when they were working with me on my diet endeavors and I told them that fruit made me hungry. They thought I was nuts. But I have learned thru going thru Atkins that the fruit DID make me hungry because of all the sugar and carbs associated with it. I was fighting an uphill battle and loosing. My new doctor understands and supports me on Atkins and did tell me that yes carbs make you crave more carbs. She verified I was not crazy about the fruit making me hungry...but not all doctors have the knowledge on this sort of thing. Also she is a low carb person herself, not Atkins..but low carb. I hate to see you give up so soon and hope you will give this another try. If not.....I wish you all the best of luck in whatever diet you adhere to.

Are you taking any supplements? They are a must! Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution h recommends 500-1000mg of L-glutamine before meals and/or when carb cravings are greatest. (Page. 267 NDR) Don't let a carb addiction stop you from reaching your goals! Your not writing down your food dairy in this site anymore so I couldn't look at what your eating... What I did see from December and into January was not the Atkins diet, as you are eating alot of carbs in those posts.

just a little insight..u want to drink lotsa water 64oz a day atleast..stay away from sweetners and such..sodas (unless it is diet coke zero or sprite zero) and limit them to 2 a week...food wise meats, lean beef, bacon, steak, chicken, fish..all good..cheese (in moderation) eggs (of all kinds, boiled,fried, etc) u can have sour cream and some dressings on ur salads (where u are to get ur veggie carbs) ur ratios should be 70% fat 30% proteins and 10% carbs... remember you are calculateing net carbs not full carbs..and 15 net carbs should be coming from veggies and the other 5 from meats , eggs, and so forth...like simply witchy said...go to the atkins forum on www.atkins.com and read all the info u can..go thru the community forums there are alot of us there and it is such a helpful sight..you will get many of your questions answered and if theres something u dont understand post a new topic and jump in people are there to help...hope this helps darlene and hey atkins does work if followed properly...ive done it the old way and now the new waay and it workssssssss.....
