Johanne's Journal, 17 November 2011

Still no movement on the scale. Well, no movement is better than UP!

I'm popping in to read journals and comments, but I'm not stopping to write. I still trying to felt like mad. Today is the last day and I haven't accomplished much. I'm still new at this and every new scarf is an experiment. The last three days have resulted in abject failure and, at this point, I can only physically handle doing one a day. I hope my strength and stamina will build over time. I plan to keep doing these for future sale. Everyone have a great day and I'll try to check in later. Hugs!!!

You're so right. No gain is in itself a victory! And good luck on the scarves. Wish I had someone who lived close I could crochet with. I'm still such a novice but it's great therapy. Are you knitting or crocheting the scarves? My arthritic hands won't handle more than one needle at a time. (((HUGS))) ♥

Johanne, not gaining is great....I love those days......I just bought new wool this week to knit a shawl, it is a shiny deep red, I can't wait to get started. I will have to start in the day cos of my old eyes so I know what I am doing in the evening light. It will be a nice elegant shawl to pop over a nice dress, or elegant shirt and pants.

"Hi honey. I'm home." I'm afraid I overdid the work last week and ran myself down enough to hurt and to catch the crud. I'm up and around today. The sale this week-end didn't go well. I know people sold stuff, but none of the people I know sold stuff. My DIL sold roving, but none of her spun yarn or finished pieces. Oh well. It was a gamble, and I have the scarves for later. Hi Bren, I'm back. Thanks Christy, unfortunately, I came home with all of the scarves. Ruby, I do crochet . . . and knit and embroider and spin and weave and . . . I wish we lived closer too. The scarves I made were lace weight felt. I did some with veil weight, fabric backing, which are called "nuno felting" and some without. My hands are pretty arthritic as well. My favorite type of needlework used to be counted thread, but I have trouble holding a small needle now. Yvonne, I LOVE deep red. Is your shawl going to be a lace pattern? I would love to see it when it's done! Love you all!!!
