I haven't really kept a good journal losing this weight, but I am starting to find new things about myself that I couldn't see or feel before. Like the contour of some of my bones. Or the fact that I can now wrap a towel around my midsection without it falling down or having to hold it to keep it in place.
A friend of mine, who is also obese, hugged me. He was never able to put his arms around me. Friday, he could actually clasp his forearm.
I thank God for disaster, because sometimes it takes a disaster to bring greater blessings in our lives. My disaster was diabetes. It was a slap upside the head, and all the motivation I needed to do this.
