slenderella's Journal, 15 October 2015

After four days of sitting around eating and drinking everything in sight last week, I have been more on track the last four days, and I decided to buck up and weigh myself today to see how it has all shaken out.

Lo and behold, I've lost another pound and a half.

I've realized it's all in the mindset. Back when I used to try to lose weight before, I would think of myself as being "ON A DIET." I always just crashed and burned and then said eh to heck with it and then gained more weight. But now I see the timeline as being my whole life, and everything just comes out in the wash. On one day I might barely move, and/or stuff my face with delicious food, and/or drink wine with my friends. On another day I might walk 12,000 steps and eat chicken veggie wraps and drink seltzer. Either one is fine - it's my life and it's there to be lived! But if I choose to do more days of the latter than the former, hey, look - fat disappears. And if doesn't, fine, try again tomorrow.

Twenty-six pounds later, I can confidently report that this mindset is working nicely for me. :-)
