I don't understand this at all! I've stuck to my diet obsessively, I'm weighing out all my food to make sure I'm sticking to the serving sizes, I'm burning more calories than I'm taking in. How did I gain a whole pound? Maybe I'm eating to many carbs, I did have 80 carbs one day and 52 yesterday. I don't know, but it's day 4 and I'm suddenly discouraged and wanting to quit.

Are you weighing yourself daily? Your weight will fluctuate especially once you start physical activity as well. Don't get discouraged.. Im in the same boat and it can be maddening! Keep pushing forward, drink lots of water, and head high! You can do it!

No I don't wanna weigh everyday because then I'll be upset when there's no change, so every 4-5 days is when I plan on doing it. I'm gonna keep going I just hope it shows soon.

For me this time I had to do an Atkins type approach. I belong to a group on Facebook called Optimal Ketogenic Living. They have a table I've been going by to get protein, fat, and carbs in. I've been following it and it is working. My cravings are low too because of the low carb so it makes it easier to stick to. I hope you find the best that works for you - hang in there!

Try to remember that even if not trying to lose or gain weight - the body naturally fluctuates in weight by as much as 5 pounds daily. Don't make yourself crazy trying to control how the body maintains homeostasis.

Never give up maybe it water weight or your gaining muscle, be patient it took time to gain the weight and it will take time to lose the weight. I find Atkins and Southbeach excellent diets, try weighing weekly not daily.

Don't quit, you can and will achieve your goals! It's a panic attack when I see a pound difference too. But remember our bodies change daily, water, hormones, blood thickness its a fine machine.. So don't fret. Be proud you have made changes already for you, and your health! The best is yet to come!

Stick with it. I'm only two weeks in. During the first week I weighed on the third or fourth day and gained weight. It was discouraging. But then I read when you shock your body, you can retain fluid as muscles mend themselves. At the end of my first week, I weighed again and got a different result. Hoping the same holds true for you. I also agree with @Natellis on weekly weigh ins rather than weighing daily.

I just visited my doctor today and was told if activity level rises the calories need to increase. If you do not increase your calories and you are more active your body will think it is starving and the exchange at the cellular level will not happen. This is the shorter version. You may gain a pound but stay with your program and you will see a drop. I tried the diet fads and found if you go off of them the weight comes right back. I found a nutritionist and had to change a few things. I am happy to share with anyone. Cheers to being healthy!
