Glad to see that I'm working my way back to pre-vacation weight.

I've had a couple of ok days in terms of food. I do really well during most of the day but I need to get a good go-to afternoon snack that is healthy and I like. Recently I've been too hungry by dinner time and end up doing things like eating chips and salsa or just having more dinner than I really need. My 13 year old daughter is also an incredible baker and she's made some special treats recently that I've had some of. I'm glad to support her and those treats certainly are delicious, but I need to be more careful.

I've done a lot of walking, which is good-- had almost 20,000 steps yesterday! My workplace just moved to a new building and yesterday, in addition to my typical dog walking, I walked to work (we live in a small town, it's less than a mile to my new office) and then was unpacking boxes for several hours. That's a lot of steps. Plus my office is on the 4th floor, so that's good for walking too. I'd like to make walking to work into my regular commute this year as much as possible.

Congratulations - 20k steps IS a good day. I try to walk to lunch (1.3 mile round trip) at least twice a week, but it is HOT in Texas. Getting back to work all sweaty does not make a good afternoon. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like you are getting back into the swing of things. That is great that you can walk to work. :)

snack progress: I went to the store today and bought almonds, cheese sticks for me (not the twisty kind my kid likes to eat), celery and sugar snap peas to dip in hummus.

I prep my snacks. Most of my shopping i do at Costco so most of my things is usually in a large amounts lol like bag of almonds. When i get home i put everything in a small zip lock bags ( 1/4 cup per bag) that is my norm for a snack at one seating. I have that bag with no guilt and knowing that i'm not overeating. Same goes for peppers ,i have them cut up in a small mason jars and next to it smaller mason jar with home made hummus for a dip.

Happy you are here! So, no soccer right now? I guess it is too warm.

HCB: We still play soccer (sometimes outside, sometimes indoors). I've just been away from it for a few weeks. I played on Sunday with the women's league, which I love. I also played indoor last night with a mixed age group and that was fun too.
