Don't get discouraged! Stay in it for the long run! I would look at 2 areas if I were you: First, probably the main reason for your distress, is a quality scale. Make sure you have a quality scale, and I would only weigh myself once a week. This way you won't get discouraged by minor increases that the body does occasionally take on. Also, I would put more stock in how your clothes fit, and measurements. Second, I would try to eliminate any processed foods altogether. It's amazing how much better the body/metabolism operates when given good fuel. Think about a car: do you think that it would operate better on purely fuel or fuel that is watered down and diluted? Hope this helps, and good luck!

Lois, what kind of workouts do you do? Are you gaining muscle maybe?

Exercise is harder for you but possible. I replied on another post you had for suggestions. But just give it time, it will work. It is virtually impossible to gain 5 real pounds over night. You can gain 5 pounds of water though. Weigh yourself at the same time of day, every time you weigh yourself. If you just increased your exercise, got a sunburn, or increased your salt (or a million of other small things) your body will retain extra water and your weight will go up. You can do it!

According to your food diary, you had wine last night - alcohol can temporarily cause a gain. Look for quality of your calories -wine and chocolate may not give you the best nutrition. I agree, don't get discouraged! Just move forward and adjust your plan. You also may want to limit the calories -Fat Secret tends to be too generous with RDI so maybe shoot for 1400 a day consistently and see if you can lose on that RDI.

Yes it can be as stated above water, salt ect. I also have found if I'm eatting mostly salads and start eating carbs like brown rice, grains it changes how fast slow or even amount I lose or the fact I gain it sucks but it does this to me???? Keep on climbing for your goal don't let this throw you its a moment in your journey. No matter how rough the road your path is straight not crooked straight on. You will see.
