RIGHT AND WRONG

Day two of my 5k training. 45 mins on strength training and 30 on treadmill. I didn't even speak to Mr. E today, completely ignored him. I am beginning to move up from jogging to running, ever so slowly and in intervals broken up with brisk walking. I am following a plan suggested by my trainer, along with bumping up my core and leg work so I don't fall flat on my as... er I mean face in front of everyone. Right.

I did some reading about running for beginners and I got quite an education... I knew to get good shoes but I figured that the extra step of going to a store just for running was for seasoned pros and hardcore weekend warriors. Wrong.

So I went to the Running Zone after the gym today, I was a little apprehensive because I have been in other sporting goods stores before and sometimes have been blown off or ignored by the young male salesjerks, after all why would the fat chick need running shoes right? Wrong.

I was immediately greeted by a friendly young man named Pete and I told him I was in need of properly fitted shoes and had enrolled in a 5k next month, turns out their store is doing the race timing and he even showed me one of the medals, designed by a local artist, really nice! Not that I'll get one unless they have one for last place LOL! But I digress.

He evaluated my gait and asked me questions about where I run, etc., then he brought me out several choices to try on, and they all fit well but the Nikes ended being the cushiest for my feets. So after careful consideration I ended up with some boring white old lady shoes right?

Wrong....

After all, a good butterfly can't be seen in drably colored sneakers, right?

Right. And I really like purple, too. LOL!!!

Have a fantastic Thursday!!!

Fantastic trainers - mine are Niki but with pink - I know, very girlie, they were the ones that were most comfy. Wait for it - my gym bottoms are black but have the same pink colour in piping lol. Good start - great to have a trainer putting together a plan to work to. :-)

I think good shoes are important no matter what exercise you are doing. I have always heard that purple is the color of passion. Let it be your motivator! Keep up the great exercise program...wow looks like you are on the right track. Still watching Hurricane Emily...looks like it may turn up the coast...Hopefully!

Hey Skinny thank you! I used them this morning and they felt great! I don't have a coordinating outfit but I do match the gym equipment... PF has a purple and yellow color scheme thoughout and I noticed this morning that I match! Unintentional, but cool.
