meohmy125's Journal, 06 April 2015

I watched HBO's documentary yesterday on Scientology and it was quite interesting. The director had many themes, but one of them was vanity. It made my husband think of Ecclesiastes 1:8 'All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing.' When he said that, I then began to think about how it could definitely relate to diet and exercise. I sometimes feel my stomach/taste buds are never fully satisfied. Also, how sometimes I'm so concentrated on what the scale says or trying to lose it so fast, that I don't even realize it. I know when it comes down to it, I more concerned about how I want to shape up and feeling/ being healthy. Every body is different from the next. So, I've become not so stressed out about the numbers but more concentrated on feeling and looking healthy. I've switched up my diet to less carbs/sugars/diary/processed junk and more fats/veggies/fruit/protein. I had a lil cheat day today.

On another note, the dry brushing is working. My legs and stomach have a smoother appearance and feel. I hope to keep this up. I hope you all are having a wonderful day because you are worth it!

What are you using for the dry brush? I've considered this before but don't now what people use for it.

I've been actually looking for one, but haven't yet found one specially designed for it. So since I haven't found one, I just thought to use a regular hair brush with bristles.

That dry brushing is really interesting. And congrats on the huge loss!

Thank you for saying this. Very encouraging. I feel like I have been too over obsessing about the scale and the way my body looks, that it has been affecting my relationships with people around me. So thank you for those verses. I just need to accept the anatomy of how God made me.

I watched that documentary too. So many troubled people, just looking for help in all the wrong places I guess. It really upsets me when I learn about people who have been taken advantage of, like the young Travolta, etc. I, too, have changed my approach, realized I needed to move away from the stress if I am to change my eating habits. Too much of my bad eating came from anything but hunger. I have been so much calmer lately - I must be thinking right. Now, to stay off the stuff I know is bad for me. I know that the better I do, the better I will feel, giving me the power to keep doing better.

So true. I think diet and even exercise should only be about the way you feel; energy, thinking, sleeping, enjoying food in moderation and living life. Getting healthy should not be a race or stressful. It is a choice we make to have better quality of life!

Meohmy125, I need to look for the special dry brush. In the meantime, I am just going to use a dry wash cloth. Might help a little. :) Horseshu1, thank you for saying that--> Getting healthy should not be a race or stressful.

Thanks HCB. Jen, I'm glad He showed you. It saddened me as well flj. So many people are being led astray by so many other people who are just plain wrong and greedy. I know right. It feels like huge roadblocks come from a lot of things that are not even hunger-related. I love your ambition. Keep at it! That's definitely right Horseshu1. Deb, I'm thinking Bed, Bath and Beyond may have it, but I don't know. I've never thought of the dry wash cloth. I may try that too until I find one.
