Hey hun, don't be too hard on yourself, next time you feel like a binge try and have some peanut butter dark chocolate dreams from Tesco and eat it from a spoon or if you don't like pb then just have a couple squares of dark choc, I have some of either every day just to keep the cravings away and stop the end of week binges. Hope you're ok, a pound could be water weight aswell!

The only way to succeed is to be hard on yourself, you did it now pay the price.

Just heard someone quote Abe Lincoln on tv - 'It's not how often you fall, it's how often you get back up'. As a serial 'faller' - I can say, 'how true'! You've done fantastically well so far, you'll soon be back on top of it.

Dear Pretty26, I am so sorry it was "tough love" and I am so pleased you took it correctly. I stand by my words though there is no point in pretending, it is what we eat and nobody can force us to eat. The other thing is that if you put on a pound this week there is no way you can make it up next week for the following reason:- If the next week you take a pound off how can you allocate it to the previous week, it is a pound off and that’s it - the previous week is passed and finished so if you had not have put on the pound then you would have been two pounds lighter, this claim of people “making it up is so, so silly. The next claim could be “OK so I will take two pounds off next week” well if you can do that then do it but remember if you can do it once you can do it all the time so take the two pounds off by all means BUT if you had not of put the pound on then it would have been THJREE pounds !! So dear member, there is no way we can make it up we can only try harder but again, shouldn’t we be doing that all the time ?

Nope I totally love advice and tough love next time I want to eat rubbish I will think of this convo 👍 and grab an apple 😁 that is true kinda lying to ourselves.. We could be doing that all the time indeed, but when you have had a problem with food for so many years (childhood/adulthood) it's easier said than done.. I know where I've gone wrong just gunna focus on the 3st 3lb I have lost and not dwell on a 1lb I'll just hit that cardio classes a swimming hard this week 🙈 and try to get out of the habit I seem to have gotten myself into xx

Well said and that is all we can do is try harder next time. Like you, I have a problem with food for some strange reason I keep eating it I wish I could stop :) Now if I could invent a way to make that strange commodity called “will power” I would be a multi millionaire in just a few days. I am just so lucky and I know I am, in that I have a really good strong will power but even then there are times when I came close to falling. I wish you luck I really do and the fact that you have lost 3 stone and 3 pounds is to be commended nobody can take the success from you. I hope you can keep up the good work as you do seem to be doing so well. xoxo

Struggling with cravings? Sugar-free gum.

Well you've been on a diet for 16 weeks and lost 20kg! That's over 1kg a week! Firstly you must have the will power of a monk! well done! Probably your hormones are going crazy, you can choose to ignore the cravings that your body is giving you, with even more will power, or listen to your body. Your metabolism may have also slowed down which only compounds the problem. What you could do is slowly (very carefully) bring the amount of calories you are consuming up a little, until you are maintaining your weight at a steady weight. This would let things get back to "normal". It should take a month at least. Then you can start dieting again. Pleas don't consider what I say as advice, I have no qualifications and apparently I have been called out for not practising what I preach, but this is what I would do if I had lost as much weight as you have in so little time.

To be fair I'm always chewing gum :) defo sugar free (crazy smile) GilesBathgate, I will take anything as advice, as long as it sound sane :D and it sounds perfectly sane so I thank you and I may the cals slightly and not be so strict because I think this is where I have gone wrong :) x

Your protein seems a little low & this might be highly likely responsible for the binges. If you can, try & get in a bare minimum of 40g of high quality / complete proteins a day. And when feel like binging, eat (or drink) around or over 100g of protein, this should be around 400 calories or 4 scoops of 0 carb protein isolate powder. Together with at least 1, & preferably 2 litres of water. This will allow your body to release the hormone Peptide YY, which will completely kill the desire to binge in it's tracks. Speaking from personal experience, 100g of Syntrax Nectar Whey protein with water will pretty much cure me of all desire to binge within an hour. And this effect will last for weeks.

This is amazing infomation!! Thanks so much :D I will be going to get some of this protein xx

I don't want all that fancy flavoured protein with loads of strange additional ingredients in it. I just get unflavoured MyProtein Impact Whey Isolate. It has two ingredients Whey and, Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin). I add my own ingredients to flavour it, or add it to porridge, or add FlavDrops also sold by MyProtein. (It means I get to add a different flavor each day)

Another thing I like to do, take a banana, peel it, put it in the freezer. Next day chop it up, place in a powerful blender with 200ml nonfat milk, and add 30g of whey. Whizz that up for 3 minutes and you will have the most amazing protein smoothie!

Another good source of protein: Two Chicks Liquid Egg White. See if you can spot it in your local Sainsbury's or Asda. They never seem to have it when I look :(

Ive heard of it, really good stuff :) however I don't eat eggs or drink milk, so when I make the smoothie I'll use soya x my friend gets her from waitrose.. Always having it she is lol x
