Herbie's Journal, 19 February 2015

More progress! This makes 7 pounds in my first two weeks. Even though I don't think I look any different, I can feel the difference when I exercise. That is motivating-- I feel just a little stronger and that makes me happy. I also find that with my Fitbit I'm encouraged to work at my standing desk rather than sitting down (we have desks that can be adjusted to different heights). I don't know if that makes any real difference in terms of weight loss, but I think it keeps me moving around more.
171.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 31.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

As a teacher, I'm often standing at work, and I can totally feel the difference between when I have a class going and when I don't (and sit on my butt all day). Every little bit helps, and I would imagine standing encourages you to do more walking too.

I stand at work as well! I only sit when I eat. It takes a lot getting used too. When I first started to stand it was hard to stand all day. I noticed I would lean on my desk sometimes for support. Its cool to see how your body strengthens in order to support your daily routine Keep it up!
