I'm already feeling much better about Atkins than I ever have about any other diet. I lost 30 lbs. right after high-school on eight Watchers and that was great, but I was practically starving myself. The next time I tried to go back on I found out I was pregnant a week later. When I tried to do it again after pregnancy I just failed miserably. But whether I did well or not on Weight Watchers, a key issue was that I was just always miserable and felt starved. I don't feel starved on Atkins. Sure, I'm battling some cravings, but those are diminishing. I always get a (nauseous) kick out of the fact that I can eat cheese and stuff now but when I'm eating it I'm not totally rabidly craving it. On Weight Watchers, fats were my downfall. I would just insanely be craving fats and I'd get my 'serving' of cheese and oh my god.. it'd be orgasmic. So, I'm a little sad that cheese is just ho-hum, but really that's a good thing! I also think if anything my sugar cravings are less on Atkins because I'm not allowing myself just thatone soda a day or that occasional sweet. Looking back, my downfall each time I tried Weight Watchers was usually a craving of fats, not sweets. I'm also learning not to run to quick sugar fixes when my energy feels low. Also, my headaches I was experiencing the first few days have gone away. :D

I weighed myself twice today. :\

I'm going to go with the lower weight (1 lb. difference), not because it's lower, but because I got it second. The first time I weighed myself, I was just getting up to pee in the night. The second time was when I was up for the day. I also (*sigh*.. I'm going to go through these thing like hotcakes) got a darker result form my morning ketostick than my middle of the night ketostick. I am having some trouble telling the difference between the light and moderate colors (one is like pink, the other more dusty rose or mauve).

I really need to chuck the scale. I thought of taking it to my in-laws, since we go there every weekend, but then I couldn't weigh in the morning, which I would prefer. Maybe I should just allow myself daily weigh-ins for a little while? It's really nice to see a lb. slip off each day. ON the other hand, it could be fun to see all my progress at the end of one week. Of course I know if I had a one-day 2-lb. weight gain I probably wouldn't even notice it if I weren't weighing but it might seriously depress me if I were.
274.5 lb Lost so far: 11.5 lb.    Still to go: 44.5 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
losing 10.5 lb a week
