My main success so far has been keeping a hunger journal. Not counting calories, but tracking when I feel hungry vs when I eat. In general, around 3-4 hours a day is enough to help me lose around 1 lbs per week. That is regardless of whether it's all 3 hours at once, or split among the day.
163.6 lb Lost so far: 1.4 lb.    Still to go: 13.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
