Eating 1300 Calories per day, all whole foods, exercising lots, drinking lots of water, sleeping well yet this….weight loss is a tough journey when the scale doesn’t do what you hope for. But…i feel better and I’m hopeful for the next weigh in. Any suggestions would be helpful. I feel stuck.

1300 is low, if you burn a lot of calories is it possible you end up too far below your calorie goal? Just an idea, I don’t know your situation. That being said, if your calories are truly at 1300 it’s just a matter of time before you see change. It’s funny how time seems to go so slowly when we wait for something. 😸 Keep up the great work!

I gain weight on 1300 unless I drop carbs quite low, if find when my healthy fat and protein are higher I burn and when I am eating all healthy grains and pasta I just get fat. Ymmv, but at 1300 the only way I could get fat up for keto was to drink avocado oil or olive oil

Michelle, you and I seem to have similar weight loss strategy. However, after reading an article on Google, I learned that the body adapts quite readily to a closely maintained caloric intake and weight does not budge very easily. I learned that alternating caloric intake can help tremendously. Instead of keeping my calories at 1300, I have been having 1100 cal one day followed by 1400 cal the next day or 1250 cals. You get the picture. Good luck👋

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I like the idea of altering caloric intake day to day…not a strategy I’ve tried before. I have a really slow metabolism…always have. I am 52 years old, 5’8”, teacher, exercise junkie, but have struggled to lose weight over the last few years. I eat lean proteins, whole grains, and tons of veggies. My beverage of choice is water. Thyroid is fine. I have tried so many things…I will keep trying. I truly appreciate everyone’s support and ideas. Such a brilliant team!

Just to be clear, Michelle, I certainly eat 1500+ some days now. For example, it is my birthday on Saturday when I will DEFINITELY be eating plenty. Looks like Friday and Sunday will be low calorie days for this girl!😊☀️

@DomOlive, thanks for your thoughts. 1300 is my drive and I try to stick pretty close to that. On days where I burn a lot of calories, I eat an extra 100-200 more too (only on days when I do a huge hike or bike or run). This seems to be my sweet spot for daily intake but maybe 50-100 more would help. Not sure.
