The Elk hunt was a mixed bag, with a fuel pump that went out, having to have the truck pulled out with a winch, planning around being in bear country etc. When we finally did catch sight of a herd of Elk, they were across the boundary of our hunting area. So no luck for us on Elk this trip. Maybe we can get out one more weekend this month, but we will be limited, since we'll be taking one weekend to get out for our deer. I'm surprised I didn't gain more. I've had a couple of weeks of not very good eating. But I am resolved to get back to it. The altitude still kicked my butt on some of the hiking we did, although we didn't do much because of concerns over Grizzly bears.
