Callys mum's Journal, 07 July 2014

Fatsecret has been a boon this week, although after three and a bit months of recording and reporting I am starting to sound like a right control freak.

Knew it was going to be a very busy weekend so packed as much activity in the first four days of the week as I could handle. So by the time Friday afternoon rolled in, I relaxed and enjoyed myself with people I love over the weekend. Bonus: tiny weigh loss.

A wedding (friends son), a bon-voyage (back to Australia) and a visit from the snipers (competing in shooting at the Commonwealth Games) from New Zealand. Weather despite all the early indications was superb and Bristol showcased herself well to my Kiwi friend, her husband and their three gorgeous girls. Their visit also made me melancholy for my family and a little sad for my step grand-daughter who turns two tomorrow. Her mother's family are so controlling that I have never met her; my husband has seen her three times; her paternal grandmother has seen her once (as had a mental breakdown from the stress); and her father gets to see his daughter only when he's told to! No regular visiting times. Some woman are shite. My step daughter has met her niece once. Breaks our hearts. Anyway, what's this rant about … On Sunday I was able to experience the joy and challenges that children can bring! I want more! (not my own, mind - too old for that lark).

Am a bit disturbed by the number of people who start Challenges and can't seem to keep up. Mind you, "14 day of Skipping'"might have been a good idea but, my body (feet) didn't like it so I didn't skip for four! Perhaps a few rest days might have helped others to keep up the pace. The 'Channel Swimming" is going well but swimming is my love although disappointed that no-one else appears to be reporting back regularly. I've piggy-backed on a third challenge (confessions of a serious control freak) "75 in 31 days", which is actually an exercise in math!

Talking of math, I did a calculation of calorie deficit and using the '7700 to lose a kg" benchmark find it's starting to slip, despite my efforts. Can feel the halo over my eyes as I head for the maintenance phase of weight management. Going to be tougher than I expect. Can feel it in me bones.

Know its difficult fellow FS brothers and sisters but we soldier on. Good luck out there and enjoy the rays while you can.
