Fledgist's Journal, 20 April 2011

I did over an hour in the gym yesterday. That's the most I've done in a while. This morning I was gratified to see that my weight was down nearly half a pound. I wasn't expecting to see this drop, so I'm very happy about it. There's a long way to go, but I am going to get there.

Your doing great... really... 108 lbs lost!... nothing to take lightly! No pun intended! I've started doing push-ups to increase some upper body strength according to a web site. Google 100 push-ups if you have an interest!

Push-ups sound valuable, but I don't think I'm yet ready to do those. I'd have to be a bit lighter than I am to start.

Good work out, you are still on top of your game, 108 lbs down is awesome!

I am just amazed to come back here and see my buddies are still knocking out those pounds. Great job, Fledgist! Isn't it exciting to see the under-200 goal fast approaching?

Thanks! I don't know that the under-200 goal is approaching fast, but I'm heading towards a couple of significant milestones within the next month or so, and I'm making decent progress. Every step counts. Zeikiya: It's actually more like 151 pounds since I started dieting (I changed diets, which changes starting weights). I find that really difficult to believe. Thirteen months ago, I weighed 380 pounds, now I'm below 230. With a bit of luck and a lot of discipline I may be at my goal in another year.

Hi Fledgist, Fantastic achievement, congratulations great to see that this can be done without surgery. I am hoping to have my 100lbs down, I am so excited to get to where I am starting to feel normal. Your feelings through the whole process have to be changing by the day. Keep up the good work and so glad to see so many people on this site egging everyone on......I just don't want to weigh the weight of a heavy weight boxer anymore.....

Thanks, Yvonne! It's a huge effort, but I'm starting to see results (in the material form of being able to move more easily, of having my waistline come down, of buying clothes from regular stores, and of having my doctor tell me that I'm looking good) which is making it worthwhile.
