Went to a wedding Saturday. After a few orange martini's I seemed to lose all diet-related willpower. (It's also possible that I lost all willpower entirely, but that would be a longer story and not necessarily diet-related.) It's really annoying how quickly the weight comes back. The lesson out of this for me (one that was mentioned in the SBD book, btw) is that it's much harder to stay on the plan when I drink. One glass of wine is okay, but after that I am likely to yield to temptation (diet temptation, that is).

However, today is a new day. I worked out very hard this morning and am following the diet properly so far.

195.0 lb Lost so far: 10.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 2.8 lb a week

That longer story sounds like it may have been an interesting one. If you tighten up on the diet today you will be like new or better tomorrow. You just have to let go once in a while. :-)

I hear you about the drinking. But, these things happen and I agree that you ought to be able to take a break from the diet every once in a while. You're back on track now, I'm sure you'll see progress from your efforts soon.
