I think I can call that the first full day. Interesting. For me, 16:8 basically means skipping breakfast, and not snacking in the evening. I hadn't realised just how much snacking I do in the evening.

Maybe that's a large part of my problem.

I also hadn't really realised just how quickly soda calories add up. That said, I ended the day well short of my RDA, and had to try to get there. Indeed, I had a soda at lunch time in order to make sure that I wouldn't fall too short. Obviously, they're not the best calories to make up my daily allowance, so I need to do a better job of picking more suitable foods.

For me, the main thing here is to get used to, and learn to like, feeling hungry. It's been a long time since I did that with any regularity. For too long, i've been in a state where I've never really felt properly hungry at all. I'm sure that's most of the rest of my problem. But knowing that I'll be eating at lunch time, and don't really need to worry too much about what I have, certainly makes the hunger easier to bear. I also think I'm going to have an easier time with portion control too: after not eating for 16 hours, the stomach really doesn't feel like being stuffed.

So, it's only a day, but so far so good.
