The human being is a strange animal indeed. We make a life for ourselves then we complain about our life. We complain that it is too busy, too boring, too intensive, too slow, too full, too empty but if we stop and think about it the one thing we have is THAT life. Oh we could change it if we really wanted to but no, it is far easier to complain that to go through all the hassle of changing the way we live. This is the human being. ! I have a favourite saying which goes like this: ..................................."I open one of my eyes of a morning. I take a look at the bedroom ceiling if it is white and not pine I open the other. I then take a sniff. If I can not smell burning then I smile and get out of bed a grateful man".......................OK, so this is supposed to be humour but it really is a serious statement if we think how many people can not do that of a morning. I alone have attended no less than five funerals in the past month thank god non of them were mine. You live a good life Maud I know you do but I love your journal this morning it made me smile.
