I think 30 net carbs, 90 protein, 110 fat. Does that sound right? Some sources say up to 50 g net carbs.....some say don't measure at all......I just want to lose weight and be healthy, and so will go with what experienced people recommend.

Actually I am going to go with 20 grams of carbs or less, no measuring otherwise.

It's been my experience that if I DON'T measure and weigh my food, I actually fail miserably at portion control. I don't know if it is that way with you. I have been doing a High fat-Low carb diet now for about 6 weeks and have seen about 25 pounds of loss. I am careful to make sure I have at LEAST 75% of my daily caloric intake from fats, I stay under 20g of TOTAL carbs (not net) and keep my protein around 20%. My caloric intake has fluctuated quite a bit and I found I could eat MORE calories at the beginning of my weight loss journey, but now I keep at around 1200 calories and feel fine with that. Because of the high amount of dietary fats, I don't really ever feel hungry....even after a 16-20 hour fast period. After embracing this lifestyle (not only LCHF, but also grain and sugar free), I would NEVER go back to my old style of eating, no matter how convenient it is. :)

I think it is OK to do 20 gm of net carbs, right?
