I've been quite diligent about exercising and eating right. Over the weekend though I did have a big late night snack; guess a big bowl of salad was not enough. Then yesterday I missed a lesser workout and had a bigger dinner than normal. I was worried the weight would go up, but I have dropped weight.
The key takeaway here is consistency and not beating yourself up over minor indulgences & missing a workout. Even Tony Horton in the P90X manual understands life happens, you may miss a workout, and you can afford to indulge in a less than healthy meal or good dessert once a week. Just show up to those exercises, be consistent in doing them and maintaining proper eating habits more often than not, even if you miss once in a while, you are still making progress.
