@Fat Mike : Hi there, I saw a comment of yours the other day re NZ and showed it to my hubby. You and he are about the same weight at the mo and he's stressing about it big time, as we are pretty far in the process of trying to get to NZ and he thinks his weight might eventually count against us for Residency. He asked if there was perhaps a way that the two of you could have a chat about NZ, the weight loss journey etc as he'd like to hear your future plans & perspective? Thanks

@eloise NZ has a bmi restriction which they are not negotiable on, hence you will see i lost up to 50kg and got to 130kgs just before covid. They are very strict on this point and a physical from your local gp and again before final departure are a requirement. Ive heard on two occasions they have deported south africans who have been there for a couple of years after there original work permits expired. Search centurion man deported by nz. Bottom line, i have to loose the weight to 35 bmi but i can apply for an exception when i hit 40 bmi due to my skill set which is in demand. But to be honest with Covid, we still a year away from when they will open boarders for non resident, so we got time to shed the kgs. To shed the kgs is possible as i have done so before loosing more than 50kg in less than a year. If you struggle, Canada and Australia dont have weight restrictions. Trust this helps

@Fat Mike : Thank you! Much appreciated. May I ask how you achieved such a significant loss in such a short time? (Hubby wouldn't be very happy with me if I didn't at least ask what you did...🤣😉) He did the VLCD a while before going over to NZ last Feb to secure his job and lost 20kgs very quickly but has unfortunately gained it all back now plus more.

@Eloise Did it by trial, no specific method. initially pre the fs app i google the calories, and at that point i started at 1200 calories a day. Then came the app and save me tons of time with the tracking of calories. As i got smarter by reading a bit here and there i started tracking macros as well and introduced walking but this was only after i had already dropped 25kgs. Everytime i hit a plateau i increased calories by 150 to 200. Basically ended up eating 2100 calories a day. Like i tell everyone that asks… for me there are some simple fundamentals that you need to follow: 1. At my weight i drink 4 liters of water a day incl coffee 2 cups and my 2 protein shakes 500ml each 2. Cut all carbs 3. Cut all coldrinks and sugars (lindt dark chocolate only 2 blocks every now and again) 4. Walk 10000 steps a day 5. 1 cheat day every 14 days (3000 cals) Red meat is eaten at lunch or breakfast, fish and chicken dinner. Protein shakes ( 2 a day) are important or me as its a bit impossible to get your macros right by “eating” protein. And thats basically it, make sure you eat 5 times a day. Breakfast at 7, protein shake and fruit at 10, lunch at 12:30, protein shake at 15:00, dinner by 18:30. Nothing goes into the “piehole after 8pm. Good luck a
