ok.. so I was right, my starting weight was much higher than what I estimated it at. I was very worried about weighing in for exactly this reason. I wish I knew what my starting weight really was. I could have used that momentum for a motivation boost.

Only 5 lbs. difference from what I estimated, but its better than getting on the scale and weighing in higher than what my estimated start weight was. My motivation will come from how my clothes are fitting.. MUCH BETTER!!

225.0 lb Lost so far: 15.0 lb.    Still to go: 45.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

you have done the hard bit - that first weigh in that you were dreading so much. You have a new starting place so its onwards and upwards!! Well downwards for the scales :)

Yeah, I know how that goes. In fact, I meant to do all my measurement 3 weeks ago when I started this latest journey. I think I'll go do it now, so I have CLOSE to a starting point :-)

Now you have the starting weight, so you know where you're going from here. That pair of pants that are a little tight now but get looser as you progress is a much bigger motivator than the scale.

You have nowhere to go but down on that scale then!

For me, the changes in my health numbers...blood pressure, blood sugar, etc are the real measures of my success......and hey, I can walk without getting worn out! and hey! I can do fun stuff without having to rest so much! One step at a time, one bite, one meal.......alot of those one steps turn into a journey before long when you look back! You started it...and that's the BIGGEST step of all!!!!!!!
