G-Ride's Journal, 15 February 2011

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?I normally consume between 2000-2400 calories a day, I think I'm doing something wrong. I saw a nutrionalist on TV this morning who said to loose weight you should consume no more than 1300-1600 calories a day. Is this for women only? Men need more calories than that. Weighed myself this morning, I'm 2lbs lighter but that is steady exercising.

Hi, you should type your metrics into this calculator to figure out your basal medabolic rate. Then eat 500 less kcals (but no less than 1200). I've put spaces in it, but fs tends to truncate web addresses. http:// www.bmi-calculator. net/ bmr-calculator/

If you stay around 1500 calories a day a workout at least 4 time a week you should drop about 4 pounds a week.

I wouldn't listen to a nutritionist on tv... consult a doctor or a local nutritionist or trainer who can advise you on your specific situation. I am a female and I eat around 1600 calories a day and just my workouts alone each day burn about 250. This does not include my other daily activities like walking the dog, shopping, housework, etc. If I ate less then 1600 calories I would be STARVING all the time-- I can even tell the difference when I eat 100 calories less than normal in a day. So keep doing what you're doing, and remember from the Abs Diet book that starving yourself only slows your metabolism and sets you up for a binge later.
