I am not weighing in today for the simple fact that I didn’t take my thyroid pill last night and taking it in the morning you have to drink a lot of water with it, so then I went ahead and had my coffee as well.
Stepping on a scale to weigh myself today would be so scary, it would be as if I am stepping into a minefield.😮
Have a Sensational blessed Sunday!🌺

I am always floored Mermee, when someone has their thyroid removed! It does a hell of a lot of work, how one can survive without one is a mystery to me. There are people at birth that have it removed or they are born without one and do quite well in life. My boss’s wife had hers removed, I guess it is common. I didn’t have mine removed, but it actually went off the charts, as I needed medication for hypothyroidism, it had reverted into being a hyperthyroidism condition, not knowing this, I was adding to it with medication. I became weaker and weaker to the point of missing work for I couldn’t get up. Finally, after days of not getting any better, my husband was going to drive me to the doctor, but I couldn’t even get to the car, I totally couldn’t walk. Once in the car, I told him just take me to the hospital, where I stayed for 5 days with 4 doctors trying to figure out why I couldn’t walk. They promised they wouldn’t send me home till they had me walking again, I was so relieved! Nowadays they send you home without hardly any treatment. It totaled me, to the point I had developed blood clots from not walking in my legs that had traveled to my lungs. So they finally, with all the blood test and monitoring had me walking again with a walker. They all told me it would be a long long time before I am up and walking correctly. I am just with the help of FS, encouragement to walk more, am feeling like I have almost kicked the habit of walking like an old lady.😆 I now do still take medication for hypothyroidism, but it is just a tiny bit, (which you are supposed to drink a lot of water with) and I have blood tests monthly because of the blood clots. Now that I am through writing my book, what does your parents take to stay healthy? I am sorry I wrote so much, but it amazes me how the tiniest of organs controls so much. I had no appetite and didn’t eat for a month, a BIG MISTAKE, for if you stop eating all together like that, the digestive tract doesn’t kick in properly for months.😞 It was a nightmare! Not a good way to lose weight, but I had absolutely no appetite and didn’t want to eat. Wish I could say that now. 🤣 Let me know about your parents. Weird they both had it removed. 😮 Have a Wonderful Sunny Sunday Mermee!👍💕🌸🌺

Well Shrewd, nothing your scale could have shown would have been as bad as mine this morning, but you had a medical excuse and I had none at all! Have a great week!!! 💛

I too had enormous problems from my thyroid. I was sleeping like 16 hours a day, had extreme brain fog, all my joints swelled up to the point I couldn't walk and I felt dizzy all the time. I had been trying to find out what was going on and Dr did test my thyroid but in the 1990s they didn't test T3 n T4. My Tsh was only slightly low so they didn't think it was from that. Finally one Dr noticed I had a lump in throat and it looked like I had an Adam's apple. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos. They removed the goiter and my thyroid gland. I wish I still had my thyroid gland. It has caused alot of issues throughout the years but in those days that's what they did. Because Hashimotos is an auto immune disease, it still causes me alot of issues...

Oh my gosh Diana, I am so sorry. I actually slept all day and you hit the nail on the head, extreme brain fog!!!!!! I once remembered thinking if my teeth were in my mouth- bizarre, that organ messes with your brain even! We are in the dark ages still medically! I can’t believe they took your thyroid out, I am so sorry!!!😢 I am so sorry about having Hashimotos - I think that was a whole episode on House. Many people exist without that gland and I just don’t know how! It controls almost everything, yet it is a topic you don’t hear much about. Blessings Diana! 🌺🌸🌼

I am also on thyroid meds. I wake up every morning at 2isham and take my pill and then pass back out til my alarm wakes me up at 3:30am. It can definitely be a pain!

Okiedwnsouth, I have to wake up about midnight or one in the morning too, to take my pill. Usually, I can pass out again, but sometimes I am stuck awake. On those nights I am not an early bird or a night owl…I am some sort of permanently exhausted pigeon.😊

I used to wake up in the middle of the night to take my thyroid pill. Now what I do is take it after my morning weigh in around 5:30-6:00 am. Then I do my Fat Secret stuff, my hour exercise and then I have breakfast. It has helped not to get up in the middle of the night. It was the water drinking that really woke me up. This option works because I am retired so eating breakfast at 8:00 is reasonable.

Why do you wake up in middle of night to take meds? I've heard of taking them at bedtime but not during sleep time. I take mine as soon as I get up and then wait at least an hour or 2 to eat.

Shrewdness I hear that! Lol

Diana 1234 I wake up early and then try my best to go back to sleep, because I am so freaking hungry first thing in the morning. If I wait til later, I give in and eat and drink something then I get off schedule.
