It's a great day to start :) I started the 5:2 Diet on Monday and so far so good - stay positive and keep smiling :)

please explain the 5:2 diet. I actually am weighing and also putting all I eat in the spot here. I also ran off copies of WebMD Food and Fitness Journal so hubby can see what he eats.

The 5:2 diet is basically a plan whereby for 2 days you Fast and only eat 500 calories (women) and 600 calories (men) the other 5 days you eat as you please. I read the book first as a friend recommended the diet to me - The book is called "The Fast Diet" by Dr Michael Mosley. I Fast on Mondays and Thursdays (Today - yikes)! But you can choose your days to fit with your week. According to the book it is best not to Fast on two consecutive days. So far so good for me so we shall see if the results are good - there are major health benefits to this diet too :)

Wow! There is no way I could do that. Even though I have no health issues if I don't eat I get sick on my stomach and shaky. I did pretty good yesterday with calories but the carbs I think were a bit high.

I was surprised that I didn't feel shaky too - but I was ok. I guess its important for each individual to find the right diet that suits them. We shall see how I get on with this diet :) Im off to do my early morning walk with a friend - very cold outside so it should wake me up :) Have a great day :) I will be back on later :)

I have cut back so much but after reading what you eat I feel like it's not enough. Then I stopped to think I am just starting and I need to go slow so I don't burn out. The carbs get me.

Just don't forget the 75 you have lost. The holidays are over so this is a new start. Think about the 75 and not the 13. You are still way ahead. I started at 268 and my goal is 175. I have never been thin so for me age 66 I want enough on me in case I get sick. My Mom was always a big woman and at 84 she can't get around much and has lost a lot of weight but thank God she still has enough fat that she is not skin and bones.
