alideni's Journal, 10 March 2009

Today is my 1 year anniversary for my healthier lifestyle! I started my diet last year on March 10th. Although I have not reached my goal & I am only 7lbs. from it, I have to be proud of "how far I have come" as my husband says! I never thought that I would be in such control of my diet & exercising regularly like I do now. I feel 100% healthier than I did a year ago!

I have to admit that it is hard not to celebrate this day by eating the things that I should not eat! I mean ... what is a celebration without cake or donuts! The desire to go by the donut shop this morning & get a half-dozen of white cream filled donuts was about a 7 on a scale of 1-10! I didnot go by the donut shop! Atleast not today! Oh, but it was hard! I guess that desire to eat donuts, a huge hot fudge sundae, or 1/2 of a cheesecake never goes away, huh? ;) I guess it's just human!

I have to give credit to my Lord & Savior! I would NOT have reached this point if it weren't for the strength, determination and self-control that God has so graciously given me. I have tried to focus on Him & what He wants for me when I have felt the pressure of stepping off of this path. He has ALWAYS been there when I call & He never ceases to amaze me with how He can turn things around! I love Him & I count it a pleasure to serve the One who made me! ;)

You've done well and I love your attitude about this being a healthier life style rather than "on" or "off" a diet. I think you are so right about the desires to indulge in old habits never completely fade away ... but how wonderful that you are conscious about it and make choices now instead of operating on automatic pilot!!

What a difference a year makes! You have done an amazing job in the last year and changed your life, I'm so proud of you! I so hear you on those desires to drive to the donut shop, everytime I go out I see those darned cream eggs, which have been my weakness since I was about 10 years old, I'll be so glad when Easter is over and I don't have to see them anymore, I remember when I first moved to the US they weren't available here yet and I was not happy, now I'd be happy not to see them! Great job on not letting those desires control what you eat, YOU are the one in control!.....Have a great day buddy (O:

Wow, you are where I want to be. Congrats! Look at the huge accomplishment you made in just 1 yr. This is def. a lifestyle change and you are doing it!!! WAY TO GO!!! You have given me hope that a person over 200lbs can get down to 150. I bet you just feel like a brand new person. If more people could see your great accomplishment that only took a year maybe they would do it to. Congratulations on all your success.
