Hello LivinMyDreams, Welcome to FatSecret. I started here two months ago and it has really changed my life. My wife Vicky and I have dieted on and off for decades and we really yo-yo'd over the years to a combined weight of 530 lbs. We were adding about 10 pounds combined per year. Then I had my heart attacks and everything changed. I went back to the conversations that I had with my favorite doctor from 12 years ago (he has since retired), and then found FatSecret and decided to use it as a tracking tool. From time to time when you plateau you need to shake things up. Vicky and I are trying to have eat like we plan on eating for the rest of our life. If we lose fast, great. If we lose slow, also Great. We have set reward points. When one of us lose 10 pound, pig out. The theory is, from time to time, you will not always be able to be on diet and a true life style change means that you should learn to go off track from time to time and get right back on track. If you have plateaued, sometimes you need to shake it up. Since you have been eating high fat/low carb, do the opposite. Go low fat/high carb. Try eating like you have reached your goal and are not trying to lose, but trying to maintain. Do that for a few days or weeks. Then switch back when you are ready. Yesterday Vicky had a target met and I had an unbelievable doctors appointment. As a treat, we went off diet and went out to eat at an old favorite restaurant and tried to eat like we did a few months ago. We ate a lot less before we became stuffed, left and both of us have had an upset stomach ever since. 24 hours later, back on diet ago and still trying to settle down to a nice balanced diet. We are no-longer in a rush to go off diet again. You are welcome to take a look at our diet and see what we are eating. We are trying to change our life style both food and exercise like we plan for the rest of our life. Each pound off and each mile walked is a step to a better life. We are not rushing but are enjoying the journey. Have fun, make new friends and enjoy the life. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Paul ---

That suggestion is very tempting but the minute I go off plan my weight goes up. I too get stomach distress when I go off plan. Thanks for your encouragement!
