Janelleas's Journal, 12 September 2013

Yeah, finally a drop in weight! I know its not much but its a start. I really have to find a way to stay motivated, I am paying $100 per month more for my health insurance because my BMI puts me at OBESE! Just think what I could do with an extra hundred dollars per month! Not to mention how much better I feel when the weight is off.
I am not able to do the treadmill for a while, have two bone spurs in my left foot that I just got treated for at the podiatrist's.
I am still working out with upper body and trying to build up some muscle.
Why does it always seem so difficult to eat right? I love the good healthy foods, but lets face it... temptations are all around us. I need to really get into the mental game... how do we ignore those temptations and put them in their place.
IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW THEY IGNORE TEMPTATIONS, LET ME KNOW.

Woohoo... go you Janelleas... a 3lb loss is brilliant and fab start!! Aww, it's hard to stay motivated... for me, I try to look at what I've achieved so far, rather than how far I still have to go. So maybe if you can keep focusing on that loss last week, it will help keep you motivated. I also set myself little goals... I'm doing them in 10lbs... but you could try 5lbs. But just something little to aim for and you can count down as you approach. It really does make you feel good when you get there and I find does aid with keeping focus. Arghh... oh yes, temptations, definitely our worst enemy and so hard to say no to sometimes. I know again I try and focus on achievements and try to keep reminding myself... do I want to sabotage that? I also find though that I've got to have some little treats every now and then, so try and incorporate them into what I'm eating. I'm not logging my food here currently, but do log at MyFitnessPal and also using WWDiary on my mobile phone. So if you don't do that already that might help too, but definitely useful for showing where all your nutrients are coming from. Just had to re-evaluate my breakfast... All Bran sounds healthy, but suddenly realised just how much sugar it had!! Keep up the great work though Janelleas... I've just realised that we currently about the same weight-ish... lol, so we can motivate one another! :)

thanks MoonLite. I had a gain but I'm trying to get more focused. Actually hubby and I have resorted to Healthy choice frozen dinners. Evidently my cooking needs to change and I'm working on it. breakfast and lunch is easy for us to keep on track with. We have a problem with night time snacking so we have been limiting ourselves to one weight watcher's frozen dessert. That's our treat and so far this week we are starting to cut down our night time eating. Our biggest problems seem to come from night time snacking while watching TV in the evenings and portion control. Sounds like you are doing good so keep it up. I'll try to emulate you.

Janelleas - Please allow me to suggest you to look at Nashua Nutrition's ready meals. They are really tasty. I am on a 500 Kcal/day diet. What I do is to divide each meal in two. One half for me and the other half for my wife. Then I combine each half with some veggies or egg beaters or both etc. Basically you and your husband can have very tasty lunches and still consume less than 200 Kcal each.
