DairyKing's Journal, 12 October 2020

A little bit of a drop this morning. At least I am consistently below 270 now. It’s not an easy journey because I am so accustomed to eating without discretion. I know that I can take the weight off; I am too strong-willed to be beaten by something once I put my mind to it. The real challenge is to develop the mindset that this is the “New Norm” and not just a means to an end. Once I have truly accepted that my new norm is approximately 1500 calories a day of nutritious food, then I will be able to call it a true lifestyle change. I think that a major reason we fail in this journey is that we have it in the back of our mind that once we have achieved some goal, then we can relax and have what we really want. Until the healthy alternative becomes what we really want, we will always feel that we are depriving ourselves; and as long as we feel that we are depriving ourselves, and sacrificing the pleasure of indulgence temporarily, our journey will always be temporary. This time I am on a journey to a permanent lifestyle change. Make sense?

You have a fantastic attitude! I'll note that your daily calories seem on the low end, so I hope you are not making your journey extra challenging. But we are all different of course. Wishing you the very best! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
