Okay, time to get back to business. This past month has been jam-packed FULL of events and surprises. Some good, some bad. All I can really say is that my weight-loss efforts went to the back burner. It happened at an unfortunate time, because I have lost a few pounds and now it all came back. If I had already lost say 30 pounds and then gained a few back, it would seem like no big deal, but now I feel like I have to start all over again.

There is still a lot going on this summer for me. It has been unusually busy for me, but I wanted to lose weight before my niece's wedding and seeing as it's still 2 months away, I have some time.

I was thinking of doing the cabbage soup diet to kick off my efforts but I'm not sure if it's wise to do. I know that a lot of people have success with that diet but I'm kind of scared to try it! Well, maybe it will be a good thing for me. Last night my hernia was bothering me and I really need to lose weight so I can get that checked out. Maybe a kick-start will really help since I only lost about 1 pound a week on my eating plan. If I do the cabbage soup diet, it might actually help me catch up on the weight that I just gained back and then some.

Since I have been debating the cabbage soup diet, I've decided that perhaps I will try a new eating plan. I was counting calories 3 days a week and restricting myself to about 1200 calories those days. The plan was really working but it takes a lot of effort and planning. That's why it was so hard for me to follow this past month. My new idea is to make a low calorie soup similar to the cabbage soup, except add beans and grains to it. Then I will eat it for 3 meals a day 3 days a week and eat fruits and veggies for snacks (and perhaps nuts, boiled eggs, or cottage cheese for a snack if I feel like I need protein). This plan is similar to the first days of the cabbage soup diet except that I can eat both fruits and veggies and the soup will contain nutritious grains and beans or meat so that I'm not really starving myself. I think this will be a far easier plan for me since I won't need to keep track of every bit I take. Also, I don't have to stick to just cabbage soup but I can mix up my recipes. I'm excited to have a new plan. I'm still just debating if I want to kick start it with the cabbage soup diet.
