#!*#!* scale! EVERYTHING this weekend was pointing to me finally being able to log a smaller number, but no dice this AM. Now I know why Paula isn't going to live by scale numbers!

Overnight, we again had storms, so I headed for the guest room to put on lights and TV for my Nervous Nellie. I can still sleep that way fairly well(usually). With some drugs, she can calm down just a bit and then she's not jostling the bed with her panting and shaking, keeping DH from getting his rest. The storms lingered into the early morning hours, so no walking for anybody.

Yesterday was a write-off (except for walking) because we were waiting on final info to close the refinancing of the house. On Friday, it was "How about closing on Monday?" and we said "Sure!" Everything was supposed to be ready to go for Monday afternoon, but a mistake was found. It got later and later yesterday while the mistake got corrected, then we were rescheduled, then the final package hadn't arrived, etc., etc. so, we couldn't close.

We've had a handful of loans from this particular office of a major lender and this is the first closing they've missed. Never even had to adjust the time, before. At least this is only a re-fi. If it were a purchase, it might have prevented us from moving in, so we'd be scrambling to find a place for the night until we could close.

I don't do well with that kind of stress, though. I do my part of things and make sure I do it as a priority. When I'm sitting at home, waiting for final numbers, knowing I've got to get to the bank for the money in the proper form, I get nervous. If I can't get it done in time (because I got late info), I still feel responsible, as if I'm the one who dropped the ball. I did a lot of mental talking to myself yesterday, because my solution to that kind of stress/nervousness is to eat. For the most part, I did fine and when I did eat something, it was a bacon strip or a cheese stick.

Today, we're back on the schedule for a late afternoon closing, but I've yet to hear from anyone to affirm that everything's in hand and the closing can happen. We sort of left it as "Unless we hear from you..." so we'll again go to the office at the right time and see what happens.

It WILL close - eventually. LOL!

Oh, and the new computer should arrive shortly, so don't worry if I end up disappearing for awhile. :)

Refinancing can be nerve wracking! And I know how you feel about changing computers - LOL. Hope by this time tomorrow everything will be back to normal.

Sorry that the scale didn't cooperate, and that you aren't getting enough sleep. Poor scared nervous Nellie - lol. I do hope you got the house/money situation sorted, very stressful indeed and you did amazing not eating that stress because house financing is such a major stressor. And thanks for the congrats for underland - it feels great to be back, just sorry it took so long but I am on a roll and maybe, just maybe will see a number somewhere close to yours one day (though I am not holding my breath). I do hope your scale cooperates soon, very frustrating when you know you are doing every thing right.

Oh boy...I HATE when the scale reading is disappointing, kind of screws up the whole day if you let it. I totally agree, refinancing is a huge PITA, at their mercy until all is done, by the time you read this I hope your new computer is up & running (so jealous), your paperwork is all done & signed & the scale has seen the light & shows you some love!!

Buffy, all is calm on the southern front - LOL! We closed late yesterday, so all I need to do now is get all the papers organized and filed away properly. I can even get to the thrift shop today (missed Monday due to the waiting-on-the-edge-of-my-seat). Computer is still in transit.

Issy, still no scale cooperation (no matter how I stood on it - LOL!) but at least I got an uninterrupted night of sleep. And, as for scale numbers...your new regimen/WOE sure seems to be working for you, so don't believe that ANY number is out of your reach!

GG...part of your wishes for me have come true....we closed. But the scale still won't give me that itty bitty extra I need to see to log the lower number and the computer's still in transit. As for the re-fi, the mounds of papers to sign are really just a bunch of legalese to say "You'd better pay us on time or we can do A, B, and even C. AND....there's no way out and nothing else to do but PAY US - NO MATTER WHAT!!!" See? I could have done it all with less than 1/8th of a piece of paper!
