Draught4me's Journal, 26 June 2020

Waaaaah. I went up. I didn't go to the pub, I didn't eat a packet of tv snacks, I stuck to my diet almost religiously. The only thing I did was to eat 2 bread rolls with dinner last night (but I didn't have any lunch at all, so thought it would even out). I know bread is bad, but I thought 2 small rolls might be ok, I didn't even add butter, I ate them plain.
I expected to see a 82 somewhere this week, but not to be.
I was hoping to ease the diet in the next few weeks, but it looks like I can;t even eat 2 rolls without putting weight on.
I think I'm almost resigned to the fact that i will be on a diet for the rest of my life. It appears I can just look at an apple and put a kilo on :(
I think I will just go away and cry now. maybe I should weigh myself after, maybe it;s the accumulation of salt water that's making me heavy ? My footy team has been winning lately, so there have been fewer tears ;)

Cheers.
185.6 lb Lost so far: 78.9 lb.    Still to go: 20.3 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.3 lb a week

It’s more likely that your starving your body so when you have in it focused on keeping it’ you need to enjoy life not stress bout your meals n what you can’t have’ I have what I want I just limit my intake I stick to a 1800 cal a day with a 2000mg limit for sodium I don’t feel puffy as I was feeling a month ago n I’m not hungry with that amount I have my coffee, I have a donut if I chose I even have chicken fettuccine but it has to fit into my plan so instead of cutting out your wants just modify them to fit in your limits n see if that fulfilled feeling helps you to feel better in your own self 😁👍

So you're saying I can have 10 beers if I feel like it, and because they are low in sodium I should probably have 12 ? I think you might be onto something :)

Ok so I know the reason why you gained weight. Same for me, I skip lunch or dinner and I eat like such a small snack and I gain weight overnight. It’s because you ate it before you slept, if you skipped dinner and ate lunch you would lose weight and second thing is that you need to exercise. I do 20-30 minutes of dance per day, I don’t burn too many calories but it helps burn of the extra snacks we ate throughout the day! 🥰

You are right in that I need to exercise. I have been putting off going to the gym (although I do continue to pay the membership, so I do feel like I am there in spirit :) ). I'll try the 12 beer approach first, then the exercise option. Maybe some beers on the bike at the gym would be the answer ? :)

Try weight yourself less often. Body gains losses weight during day and week. Like, you are always a kilograms or two heavier in the eve. Weight yourself less often and you won’t have those little disappointments 😊

There is the likelihood that that's more water retention than actual fat gain.

Yes fluid is a horrible thing that’s why you should limit sodium to the daily requirements n nothing more unless advised by dr but remember yeast is not good either so many beers not good either lol I’d limit to at least 3 a day no more

My hubby gained 4 kilos during Covid. Lost it in 3 weeks just swapping the beer to a couple of gin and diet tonics or red wine with few alcohol free days Too many carbs in beer Maybe give that a try ???

Unfortunately there is calories in ALL alcohol :( Just your plain vodka has 70 cal. And my beer (normally superdry) is 100. So it's not that much more for all the extra volume. There's no easy answer unfortunately.

How tall are you? 84 kgs is not a bad weight.

I think you might be onto something !! I'm not fat, I am just short !!! If I was 7 foot 2 there would be no issues. However I am 5 foot 7 (or 8 I can never remember which - I think it's just under 170cm). According to the bmi thing, for my height and age, and bone density I should be about 67kg. I am not sure about that, but I think about 75 might be about right. I'm just going to continue on slowly and try to reach that by about xmas Cheers.

At 5,7’ that’s a good weight I’m about 5,2’ and they say I should be 54kgs but I like myself at 80-83kgs I had enough if I became sick n not too much to be ove exhausted... n if you a male that weight is perfect as your body is structured different to a female so just maintain n you’ll be much more comfortable within yourself 👍👍😁

I might be 5'8" - you're selling me short an inch :) Definitely still need to lose a bit more though. Still have a bit of a gut, but reasonably happy with everything else. Certainly better than when I was 120kg !! As I am getting older i think I am losing some muscle, so that's not helping either. I will work on losing a little bit more by xmas and I reckon that will be it. Cheers.

O.6kg is a tiny jump! That could be a nice big wee or poo and you'll be lower! 😉

While I have to admit that I have never 'weighed my waste', I find the idea intriguing :) I'm not sure I could reach your lofty goals of half a kilo plus per movement, but it's a new goal I suppose :) Not convinced I would like to be a plumber in your area :)
