Sandy701's Journal, 20 April 2013

Good riddance! Taking 4 weeks to drop a pound is not my idea of success, but I will take it. This is the lowest I've been since the beginning of the year. That's amazing to me because I felt it would never take this long to get through these weights on my way back to my goal weight. Sheesh!!!

It appears that yardwork on Thursday actually did me some good, as well as the yard. My hamstrings and butt are telling me that I did WAY too much weed pulling from a standing position, but I'll live. I had to tell the doggies to slow down on our walk this morning because I couldn't stride out as far as usual!

More yardwork is on the agenda for this afternoon, but I'll need to do a good bit of stretching before I tackle the work.

Yesterday's walk got rained out as the weather front came through at barely a mile. I went out dressed for summer (which it was) in shorts and a sleeveless top. By the time I went shopping a few hours later, it was winter again and I wore jeans, sweater, and a jacket!

One of my shopping stops was to get back my absolute-favorite purse that had a zipper problem. This purse just works.....and I know all of you know what I mean about that. A couple years ago, it needed to have the main zipper replaced and that's the one that was having the problem now. I've looked for replacement purses, but none of them "work" the way this one does for me. So I'm VERY happy to have it back and in operation again.

Woohoo on that loss..even if it took you longer than you would like..it is still in the right direction..I had gained up to 164 and finally got back to 158 today...Yay us....Take it easy going back to the yard work...That cold front is here as well..54 and windy..but that sun is shining..I can live with that...I do know what you mean about the right purse..if I find one I really like I will buy at least one more to fall back on..Enjoy the rest of the day...:O)

Bren, THAT'S what I should have done when I found this purse! I had been looking for a replacement even way back then and it was taking forever to find just what I had in mind. Although I bought a 2nd purse at the same time, it was a different style and color. While it works as a temporary replacement, it's not ideal for the long-term. Ah well, live and learn. Two purses it is....next time! Sun's out here too and the blustery wind from the north is giving us gorgeous clear blue skies. We've finally warmed up from the high 40's this AM to 65, so should be just fine for outdoor work (except for the wind disrupting my piles of leaves - LOL!).

I am especially happy for you because I know what a struggle that was! So congratulations! And I am with you on the purse - I am so tempted by the cute new styles, but they just don't work. We do need a place for our keys and our cell phone but not so many zippers and pockets that we can't find anything. Glad you got old faithful working again.

Congrats on the weight loss, you have worked hard to get back there. Maintenance isn't any easier than weight loss but so worth the struggle. Just wish it wasn't a struggle. And congrats on getting rid of the bigger pants. I was having regrets about having got rid of my big pants because I have gained a bit of weight but it made me get off my butt and start to lose it again. I do not want to ever fit into size 18's and 20's again. I am back in my 16's and hope to go down from there. And handbags - yes, I hear you. A curse and a blessing but when you find the right one, it's a joy. Have a great Sunday.

Buffy, I'm with you on how cute some of the newer styles are but they just don't have enough room for my stuff. And it seems the only alternative is some close cousin to a luggage piece which is decidedly too big. I feel like Goldilocks looking for something that is "just right!"

Thanks Issy. A part of me was afraid that if I kept those sizes, it might just be a bit too easy for me to slide my way on up into them. Once I settle in on a weight, I really think I'll just keep 1 size up, but NO MORE! Hope you're going to have a good work week.

Big congrats on the weight loss Sandy!! Your hard work and perseverance is paying off! I know what you mean about the wild swings in the weather. We had lovely spring weather with mild temperatures and sunshine followed by another blast of winter yesterday, complete with -5C temperatures and snow flurries. Yuck! Happy to read you got your favourite purse back again. You're so right, a purse that "works" is worth its weight in gold!

I feel like that this month too! I looked back and said, ug, have I lost anything this month LOL. I'll take it! (my fault for straying, but still, it is lost time straying.) We can do it!

So, at least you can DO yardwork...remember how hard that was way back when? I did giggle at your description of winter wear...still LOL! My mom is totally freezing, so Florida weather spoiled. Speaking of spoiled...yes, the right purse means a lot. Much to my sadness, I have been noticing how shabby mine is looking. I will have to start the hunt soon too.
