Are you tracking protein? You could be having to much which means your body can then turn the excess into glucose

No. I don’t eat red meat at all and can only eat about 100g max a day chicken or salmon. And min 1 -2 eggs. Some days none
My fat is always higher than protein

I would give it another week and if that gain hasn't suddenly dropped, sometimes if we jst drink more water etc then normal the scales can say we gained but if it water weight it should go back down really quickly. Otherwise I would recommend tracking. It is crazy how we think we would b under 20g crabs or having the right amount of fat when really we are having more

The body must manage water. Your calorie deficit will show up eventually because you are burning fat. I have terribly disappointing days scale-wise, but feel slimmer clothes-wise.

Parksy, I don’t know what’s going on. You’re keeping to your regime but nothing is happening. I’ve changed what I’m eating in anticipation of going off the diet. I maintained the calories but increased the starch. I feel much better, but for a few days nothing came off. It’s possible that the keto diet is not for you. People rave about it though. Why don’t you try normal dieting for a few days? I’m going to do training while I get rid of the last of my flab. It only 4 kgs maximum to lose.

A keto group I joined claim you really need electrolytes (salts), a fair bit of protein for metabolism and that your water weight will change. Hormonal changes also play a part. They say try to ignore the scales but focus on measuring these things: your waist, bust, hips, upper thighs and upper arms in centimetres. Add these together to make a total, then measure again in a few days. Then you can see some numbers dropping! It's more encouraging.

Obviously a keto diet will help shift fat but there is still input v. output to be considered. What is your exercise regime like? Could you be gaining muscle to account for the weight increase or are you not exercising so input is still greater than output? Something to think about...

Calorie deficit is what you meet to focus on.. it really doesn’t matter what diet you are on.,

Yip basically it comes down to calories in vs calories out. Following a keto diet is normally high in calories as fats are the most energy dense nutrient compared to protein and carbs. I would try going for a balanced diet and see how you go - good carbs are important for healthy brain functioning and gut health. Don’t be scared of them :) hope this helped

Thank u guys.
So basically I am allowed 1300 calories a day and most days I am between 800-1100. Rarely get to 1300.
Carbs usually 20-30
I exercise for an hour per day
I drink a lot of water
I do intermittent fasting also and eat between 12-8pm
Drink water and black coffee in the fasting period
I log every morsel that goes in and generally overestimate rather than underestimate it

I do strict keto and am consistently losing weight. My exercise is walking around a lot at work. Nothing else. Three things that ensure I lose weight are:
1. Tracking macros on an app. Adding everything I eat to the app. Checking the reports as well.
2. Between 5-10% carbs only. If I go higher it kicks me out of ketosis. Also make sure my proteins are no more than 20%. So good fats are around 70%.
3. I track ketosis with keto stix from the pharmacy. Gives me a nice visual boost when I’m in ketosis.
Good luck. Hope you get your results soon.
