Making up for last night's horrid choice of food: stuffed crust cheese pizza. My boyfriend and I hadn't had any food since 10a.m. that day, and it was creeping up to 7:30p.m. if not 8p.m. BIG MISTAKE! Never let yourself go more than 3-4 hours without some nutrients or water, otherwise, the day of dieting/healthy eating is out the door. The body instantly goes into "OMG she's STARVING HERSELF" mode and sends signals to the body to eat something, anything, in order to prevent death. This is just the mini-freak out that bodies go through to ensure its own survival, like a wild animal. It would be fine if humans today actually had to hunt down food or spend hours gathering it, expending calories in the process. But, since we live in a technologically-based world *sedentary* is key/ideal, so we don't burn enough calories to "deserve" the high-calories snacks and meals like stuffed crust pizza. Therefore, my efforts to be healthy today were much more successful, eating a full bfast and keeping low-cal snacks around to munch on to beat down annoying pangs of hunger. It's a proactive, preventative lifestyle. You must fear the monsterous adversary, hunger, and pacify it with semi-frequent gifts of food to defeat it. On to the next one...
