You're doing great! And yes, I have this problem everyweek. I tend to eat the same things everyweek, and surprisingly, I'm just getting new ways of eating them. I try to use coupons for things such as dairy and meats..so at least it cuts down a little bit. I just try and figure out versions of the recipes in the book that I can make, with a few substitutions to minimize the cost. I think also, having a garden this summer helped a bit.. That's the only thing I'll miss about summer. Anyway, you're doing really great.. slow and steady is the way, I've decided.

My mom raised a ton of kids on dried beans and cornbread. I've learned to cook things I can stretch into several meals like turkey chili, big bag of beans, etc. I bet I go to the grocery store 2-3 times a week though. I think fruit is my biggest expense. My hubby and I eat a LOT of fruit.
