I think I was right about that prediction. :)
I just noticed that it is now two weeks since my starting weight was taken. My weight this morning was exactly 4 pounds lower, equating to a 2 pounds per week loss, which as I understand it is a pretty healthy rate.
So that's pretty encouraging. I could of course be doing it faster by exercising more, but circumstances currently make that difficult. It will change soon I hope.
Anyway, I am making progress, so that's reason to be optimistic, and to keep at it! I need to set up some milestones.
I'm going to use two types of milestones. First, the 10lb boundaries, which means the first one will be 210. As soon as I get below that, I'll consider the milestone reached.
The other is based on the way in which everyone I know in the UK identifies the weight: in stones. A stone is 14lb. You won't hear people from the UK saying they weigh 210lb, they'll say 15 stone. That's convenient, since that's also my first "decimal" goal too. :) So I'll count that as a double milestone, and will then consider losses of 1/2 a stone as another milestone.
This way, I'll achieve milestones more often, which I hope will help to keep me motivated.
That brings back memories though. I remember being about 13 stone (182lb) and thinking I needed to start watching my weight. Shame I didn't listen to myself back then. :(
