I got a great tip from someone who has maintained weight loss for a number of years -- broccoli!

If you love broccoli, you may want to try it. Just steam up a HUGE batch of broccoli every day or two. Season and toss it with a little (yes, a little) oil and vinegar and keep a vat of it in the fridge. Then next time you head for the fridge saying, "what can I eat?" there will be that lovely vat of broccoli waiting for you.

My favorite part of this is being able to tell myself, "you can eat all you want -- as long as it's broccoli." I can gorge to my heart's content and feel not one tiny guilt pang. I realize that it's not the popcorn or chocolate bar or chunk of cheese that I crave - it's the fact that those foods are ready to eat, and I want something NOW. I find I can just as easily munch on a big bowl of broccoli as I can popcorn while I watch a movie, but the next day I don't have to shun the scale.

Instead of guilt, I feel virtuous, since broccoli is heart-healthy and a cancer fighter, not to mention a "free" food where weight loss is concerned.
