Normally I think of new year's resolutions as tacky but I have changes I need to make in my life and this has all fallen into place (no longer having restrictions post c section, adjusting to life with babies, holidays ending, etc.)right around the new year, so why not? I just don't want to be one of those people who are serious about it for a whole 3 and a half weeks then fall back into old habits, by the time spring break rolls around they have even forgotten they have a gym membership. This is not about fitting into a bathing suit by June, I got to be healthy long term for my girls. I was previous overweight/ boarderline obese, just over 200lbs at 19 years of age and successfully lost it, got down to about 150. After a month long vacation then returning to school and moving my weight crept up to about 165 last spring when I got pregnant with my two beautiful twin daughters. My pregnancy eating was a bit out of control and I tried to say I was doing it for them...either way it was over the top. The morning of November 17th I stepped on the scale at a weight of 234lbs, huge and uncomfortable, 35 weeks and 5 days pregnant with twins. That night I went into labor and delivered my precious healthy babies. Unfortunately their combined weight (6lb, 15oz &6lb, 10oz.) plus the placentas and fluid equaled about 20 pounds not 70. Breastfeeding and decreasing swelling over the course of the last month and a half has dropped me down ONLY an additional 14 pounds, but the stress of caring for 2 newborns, my birthday and holidays have surely hindered my weight loss. The truth is that I have not been serious about it, but I am using today to reflect on the things in my life that I need to change is this is definitely one of them.
200.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 35.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
