I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's been a tough few months. My mother (80) is now cancer free ... and I am not.
Partial mastectomy with reconstruction and reduction surgeries along with a sentinel lymph node removal are scheduled for Monday 29 October 2012.
I've spent the last 2 months harvesting the gardens, canning and freezing, and getting my house in order for the winter.
Some days are good, some are not so good.
My oldest daughter (15) has finally, after 14 months, been diagnosed with pneumonia. Thank God for a new doctor!!! She's just finished a z-pack and is doing INCREDIBLY well.
I can't guarantee I'll be checking in too often as I haven't been feeling well and they are planning on using some wicked nasty medications. Please be praying for me and my family.

God bless u. Both my also 80 year old mother and I are recent breast cancer survivors. I will keep u in my heart. Good luck to you on your surgery. Hang in there, there is glorious light at the end of this tunnel.

You are definitely in my prayers. It sounds like you are planning ahead, maybe trying not to think about what may happen. You will get through this.
If you are truly "going to Hawaii", that will be a great thing to focus on, to help you through this challenge.
